ODYSSEY, USA – Today, Bart and Doris Rathbone crowned themselves as King and Queen of Odyssey. Bart gave a press conference, or as he referred to it, a “royal briefing” to local news outlets. During the press conference, he said “I was sittin’ der with the missus and thinking to myself, why does London have a King and Queen and Odyssey ain’t got one? Then I realized that there’s only one family in this town that owns a palace, us! The Rathbones!”
Rathbone continued, “I then ordered some cheap plasti– uhh, I mean, 100 karat gold crowns for me and Doris to wear. We had a ceremony in which Rodney, err Prince Rodney, as he shall henceforth be known as, officiated. Basically we just played some fancy music and all that junk and then got to the feast of chips, soda, and pork rinds!”
Mayor Spencer Hicks addressed the situation stating that “Mr. Rathbone can think whatever he wants, but does not have any authority or jurisdiction beyond the premises of his property.”
