(This is going to be an “instant post” or a post that I don’t really change or edit in any way. It goes straight from my brain to the keyboard. It might be incoherent, so please bear with me.)
So just imagine me, working on blog posts to release this Thursday, when lo and behold, I get an email about a new post on AIO Audio News saying, and correct me if I’m wrong, Morrie was supposed to be right. Everything he did was justified in The Rydell My very first post shows my express opinions toward the ‘Was Morrie Right’ theme that has been going on for the past few months. You’re telling me that Morrie, in all his manipulation and lies, was just a character to teach us about that what he did was okay!! AIO, you have gone too far. Or wait, what if it wasn’t AIO entirely?
Lee Acim also mentions in his release that Jesse, in AIO Podcast #364, says that “locking someone in a room and making them think they’re going to die for you’re own benefit isn’t right at all. If the point of the Rydell Revelations was to present these cases and what Morrie did as morally correct, then Phil Lollar had to go against the grain. This three-parter could have been (and probably was) a lot more of Lollar’s opinion than actual hmm…truth? When he came on the podcast in July, he compared Morrie’s situation to Irena Sendler’s. Realliously? Locking people up in a room and hiding Jews from Nazis do not compare on any level.
In conclusion… AIO can’t be trusted with our kids? I honestly wouldn’t know because I don’t have any 🙂 The Rydell Revelations were supposed to be revelations, and instead we get a set of episodes that essentially teach it’s okay to do what Morrie did, “given his circumstances.” What does this leave us with? The Rydell Revelations will always be a group of underwhelming episodes. But you’ll find me waiting patiently for December 2020. Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off, and maybe we’ll be able to do just that. Anyway:
